Homecoming 2010


It's once again time for Homecoming at SIUE!!  Campus Activities board is pleased to present Homecoming 2010: Welcome to Cougarville, October 4-9, 2010!  A full week of fun activities has been planned.  You can visit http://www.siue.edu/homecoming for more information about any of the activities mentioned.
 
Homecoming will kick off on Monday, October 4 with Homecoming King and Queen voting in the Morris University Center from 10AM-6PM (voting will also be available during the same times on Tuesday, October 5).  Visit http://www.siue.edu/cab/homecoming.shtml for more information about the candidates (candidate information will be available on Wednesday, September 29).  Don't forget to enjoy a tasty treat at the Ice Cream Social in Peck Hall from 11AM-1PM (while supplies last).  Get your free commemorative cup with a root beer float!  On Monday, you can also see the annual Golf Cart Parade circle the campus at noon!

On Tuesday, October 5 at 9AM, don't miss free donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate sponsored by The Bank of Edwardsville on the Quad (in case of inclement weather, visit their table in the MUC Goshen Lounge!).  You can also watch student organizations compete in the annual recliner races on the Quad beginning at 12PM.  That evening, you can cheer on the Women's Volleyball Team as they take on the University of Missouri Kansas City at 7PM in the Vadalabene Center.

Wednesday, October 6 will bring the annual Cougar Karaoke competition at 11AM.  Join us as we watch representatives from student organizations compete for the top prize!  Open karaoke will begin at the conclusion of the competition. You can also join us for the second Soda Shop from 11AM-1PM in the Engineering Building.

Thursday, October 7 join us for a pre-home release showing of the blockbuster film "Grown Ups" at 6PM in the Lovejoy Library Abbott Auditorium (basement).  You can also join Campus Recreation for the "Reel Rock" Film Tour movie night in the Student Activities Center at 7:30PM.  Finally, don't miss out on the annual Homecoming Dance sponsored by Residence Housing Association at 9PM in the MUC Conference Center.  All SIUE Students are welcome to attend!  

On Friday, October 8, we kick off a weekend full of fun events!  Check out the Homecoming Pep Rally at 6:30PM in the Woodland Bowl.  Come meet the Cougar Athletic teams and enjoy some free food courtesy of Student Government.  It's also Family Weekend, so join us for Bingo from 7PM-9PM in the MUC Center Court and for Casino Night from 8PM-12AM.

Get ready for a day of sports and fun on Saturday, October 9.  At 11AM, watch the SIUE Club Football team take on the Ohio State Club team at Korte Stadium.  After the Football Game, check out of the Homecoming Cougar Fest from 2PM-6PM near Korte Stadium.  There will be live music, alumni tents, children's activities, and more!  From 6PM-7:30PM join Club Sports for the 9th Annual Chili Cookoff at Korte Stadium.  At 7PM cheer on the SIUE Men's Soccer team take on Bradley University in the Homecoming game!  Coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen will take place at Halftime!

Welcome to the SIUE Campus Life Blog!

We are very excited to launch the SIUE Campus Life Blog!  We hope that this will be a place for students, faculty, staff, and the community to get information about SIUE events, services, and more!  We will continue to develop this site over the coming weeks and months.  Each post will be written by students and we look forward to introducing you to our student bloggers in the coming days!!
